Venture Theatre has been working with youth in the Billings community since the very beginning of it’s inception in the early 90’s. In fact the very first Venture Theatre production The Wiz (1992) was a youth cast show. Since then the program has continued to grow and expand throughout the years working with hundreds of youth and families.

Ways can my child get involved:
WEEKLY CLASSES and WORKSHOPS:
During the school year a wide range of weekly classes for incoming kindergarten through high school as well as some adult classes. Topics range from Acting, Voice, Movement and Improv. Classes are affordable and are taught by local and guest artists who share a passion for youth and the arts. A background check is run on every educator that works with Venture Theatre Youth. A free welcome orientation is held at the beginning of each semester for those parents and students wanting to meet teachers, take a tour of the building and to sign up for classes. Watch for details to come.
PRODUCTIONS:
A Great way to start your child’s experience in the theatre is as an audience at our Youth Conservatory productions. The opportunity to see other children perform live is inspiring to our young. Tickets are affordable for our Youth Conservatory productions. There are many other performances here at Venture from musicals comedies to serious dramas that may be appropriate for your child as well. Check with our box office to find out the age appropriateness for any show.
Each year Venture Theatre offers a wide range of performance opportunities for youth of all ages. There is no cost to participate in a show. Casting for each show is determined by an audition. There is absolutely no previous experience required to audition and new faces are always welcomed and celebrated!
Free audition workshops are offered throughout the year for both adults and youth!
SUMMER THEATRE SCHOOL:
Summer is by far the busiest time of year for Venture Youth programming! What once began as a two-week program with less than 20 kids has expanded into one of Billings most popular summer youth programs. There is now a total of 9 weeks of programming with approximately 400 youth from the Billings area and beyond participating each summer.
The Summer School staff is made up of dynamic and skilled local instructors as well as performing arts professionals from around the country. This qualified staff is committed to providing a safe and positive learning environment for every child.
